So now they move in typical showmanship style, carrying large type, double spaced with wide margin copies of proposed Democratic health care legislation in front of cameras to illustrate that the Democrats are inflating government yet again, as if George Bush and the Republicans didn't do such a thing with their stupid "no child left behind" legislation that failed miserably.
What amazes me, is the grandstanding that just tears America apart at the seams. Americans want reform, but Republicans roadblock, make fun of, cajole, create hysteria and criticize, but do not a single constructive thing to see to it that the people's agenda is met. NOT ONE THING. Why? Because their agenda is to support insurance companies and gain massive campaign contributions from insurance lobbyists.
Are there any Democrats in that situation? Sure are. Pay attention people, this is your nation at work. Or really, this is your nation at work deceiving. Note those that enter this dialogue in ernest to see to it that the less fortunate gain health care and the more fortunate stop getting screwed with rising costs for health care. Those that roadblock serious efforts to reign in corrupt practices should be voted out of the halls of congress.
Use your vote to end bad government. Democrat or Republican, end bad government. They are NOT rulers, they are merely representatives, and are HIRED by the vote to represent YOU.

South American Weird News--Way Too Weird
Peruvian police said on Thursday they had broken up a gang that allegedly killed dozens of people and sold their fat to buyers who used it to make cosmetics.
Four Peruvians were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, murder and trafficking in human fat.
The group stored the fat it collected in used soda and water bottles, which police showed reporters.
"We have people detained who have declared and stated how they murdered people with the aim being to extract their fat in rudimentary labs and sell it," said Police Commander Angel Toldeo.
In addition to those taken into custody, police said they were searching for others who bought fat from the gang or might have worked with it.
Remains from some of the victims were found at a rural house in the region of Huanuco where the group worked, according police video.
Police said they were investigating 60 disappearances in the area that might be linked to the gang.
The investigation started this month after police heard about a shipment of fat that arrived in Lima by bus from Peru's mountains.

The Holocaust - I'm not a Jew, but I do have a stake in it.
It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.
He did this because he said in words to this effect:
'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened'
This week, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet.. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.
It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This statement is being made as a memorial, in memory of the,6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests Who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beat, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way! My personal stake is that 15000 gay men were also put to death, and I happen to also be a Catholic.
Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

Health Care Reform
This is a hot topic this year, or should I say it has been a hot topic for about 40 years. Do we want to socialize our care? If we make our care into a social system, are we then a socialistic government?
I think that we have to get beyond the fear of the word socialism. These aren't the McCarthy years, and we aren't leaning to communism. Stop with the "anti-socialism" argument. Medicare and the Veterans Administration have been well run and something to be quite proud of, and no one screams about them being socialistic. They have been supremely well run and serve two sectors of society that we should be proud to protect.
But what about the rest of us. Health care in America is NOT a right. It is a luxury. It is afforded to very few, and the poorest among us throw themselves upon the mercy of the emergency rooms when they are sick, and then they don't have money to pay the bill. That becomes reflected in how much we pay when we paying patients enter the hospitals. We pay for our care and for their care. This isn't quite fair either.
I maintain that America has a fantastic medical infrastructure. We are at the brink of losing it, as many hospitals are having to close under the current system. Insure everyone we can, and the cost of insurance per person comes down considerably. Doctors and hospitals get paid, promptly, fairly, and their patients get first class care, promptly, fairly.
The current bill might not be perfect, but it is something. Wouldn't it make sense to clip the wings of big insurance companies that are making billions and raping us? Once in place, we can roll up our sleeves and refine that system until it is the finest system in the world. Better than Canada, better than France or Italy, and better than England.
We are America, and if anyone can do it and do it well, we can.

Minority Woes Still Continue
Black, Hispanic and Asian minorities from big cities like New York, Lost Angeles and Chicago aren't being recommended for appointment to military academies like West Point. It requires a congressional recommendation, and Congress seems to be unwilling, even though the academies are seeking more minority students.
What does this say? Ambivalent congressional representatives? Lack of faith in constituents? Lack of interest in constituents?
I can assure you of this; they don't have a lack of interest in minority lobbyists that favor them with campaign contributions.
It's time for things to change, and Obama's change just isn't enough. Wake up America.

First Mammograms, now Pap Smears
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has reported two new recommendations this week, much to the chagrin of many women and at least one man, being me.
First, they stated early in the week that Mammograms were not very valuable before the age of 50. As if women younger than 50 never got breast cancer, hahaha. Who are they trying to save from what?
Now they reported later in the week, that after reviewing many case studies, they are changing their recommendations for Pap Smears too. The new recommendation is people in their 20's can get them every 2 years.
On both accounts: I've got a flash news statement for you doctors; Cancer isn't there one day, and it can be there the next. And cancer is not an age related disease. Cancer strikes children too. Thought I would mention this just in case you were sleeping during that days lecture back in med school.
A client in a local Boca Raton hair salon, who's husband is a physician, and who is a self admitted hard core Republican tried to push this off to her stylist as if it was a government recommendation, because the government didn't want to do these exams often if they became the insurer. Double whammy lies. Oh, I just love how they think the whole world is so damn ignorant.
Isn't it enough to make you nauseous? I'm a guy. I don't need either test, but I sure as hell want the women in my life to be safe and secure and healthy. I think I'll lean Democrat. Not that they are any less political than Republicans, but they sure as hell seem to be a bit more humane.

Unemployment insurance in Florida
As reported by neumerous sources this week, as of January 2010, unemployment insurance rates in the State of Florida will rise 928%.
Why you might ask? Because the seeming centrist Governor, Charlie Crist has decided to run for the Senate seat being vacated by the outgoing Mel Martinez, and as a Republican, he departed from his "centrist" political stance and decided to buck President Obama full force. He rejected the 444 million stimulus being offered to Florida, and because Florida has one of the highest unemployment rates per capita in all of the USA, their unemployment insurance fund is now depleted. Without that stimulus money to replenish the unemployment insurance fund, it must come from taxes, and that it will, all 928% of it.
What will this cause? Well, for starters, small business will be strained beyond capacity. Large business will inflate its prices on its products, and the consumer will pay for it. More jobs will be lost to job consolidation of the workforce and one person will be forced to do the work of two people, which will further increase unemployment. This begins to create a snowball effect that can throw the entire nation into a deep recession all over again. Next time though, brace for a depression, because any further stimulus that this would require is totally inconceivable.
Is Florida the only state this is happening in? As a matter of fact, it is not. It is also happening in other states with hard line Republican Governors. Do you see a trend in this? They didn't bash President Bush for coming out with the first stimulus package, did they?
Hard line partisan politics like this are going to create the widest split between the wealthy and the poor that the world has ever seen. The Republicans, the real Republicans, the wealthiest of Americans, are just greedy, and trying like hell to hold onto their money and their power. In so doing, they are pulling this entire nation down in a spiral. It's been happening for the last 9 years, but is more "in your face" right now than it has ever been before.
Listen to the arguments with a very critical ear. You will learn much.

Does the NSA have a back door into Windows 7?
Microsoft says an emphatic NO to this question. But it is a fact that the NSA did help Microsoft develop Windows 7 security. Could they have covertly inserted a back door on their own? I can assure you of one thing: If you can think it, it is conceivable. It's as if the Bush years and Bush ways are still upon us.
