First Mammograms, now Pap Smears

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has reported two new recommendations this week, much to the chagrin of many women and at least one man, being me.

First, they stated early in the week that Mammograms were not very valuable before the age of 50. As if women younger than 50 never got breast cancer, hahaha. Who are they trying to save from what?

Now they reported later in the week, that after reviewing many case studies, they are changing their recommendations for Pap Smears too. The new recommendation is people in their 20's can get them every 2 years.

On both accounts: I've got a flash news statement for you doctors; Cancer isn't there one day, and it can be there the next. And cancer is not an age related disease. Cancer strikes children too. Thought I would mention this just in case you were sleeping during that days lecture back in med school.

A client in a local Boca Raton hair salon, who's husband is a physician, and who is a self admitted hard core Republican tried to push this off to her stylist as if it was a government recommendation, because the government didn't want to do these exams often if they became the insurer. Double whammy lies. Oh, I just love how they think the whole world is so damn ignorant.

Isn't it enough to make you nauseous? I'm a guy. I don't need either test, but I sure as hell want the women in my life to be safe and secure and healthy. I think I'll lean Democrat. Not that they are any less political than Republicans, but they sure as hell seem to be a bit more humane.
